The war on Biblical inerrancy is over. The Marines have packed up and gone home, leaving behind strategically placed pockets of defense to keep the peace. When asked to give a short phrase that describes the Bible, pastor and theologian R.C. Sproul calls it “The Autobiography of God.” Regardless of how you describe scripture, the answer given in question 3 of the Westminster Shorter Catechism gives a great summary of what the Bible teaches.
Q.3. What do the Scriptures principally teach?A.3. what man is to believe concerning God, and what duty God requires of man.
